ABOUT:  HISTORY
OUR 26TH EXCITING SEASON!
This year follows an extraordinary 25th Anniversary Celebration Season and promises more of the same great acts including classical favorites, jazz, rock, Broadway and more. The season will begin with our annual Gala at a private residence on the West Shore on July 10th (this event is by invitation only; please call the LTMF office at 530-583-3101 for more information).

We are fortunate to expand on our relationship with Homewood Mountain Resort and the JMA Ventures, LLC team to include a blockbuster concert at Alpine Meadows this summer. Concert information will be added regularly to our website starting in March.
VISION
Lake Tahoe Music Festival
A cultural treasure blending nature and music for lasting memories!
MISSION
The mission of the Lake Tahoe Music Festival is to present diverse and quality musical experiences in the classic tradition from Bach to Blues and Beyond, and to create educational and performance opportunities for aspiring young musicians.
HISTORY
2008 marks the 26th consecutive season of the Lake Tahoe Music Festival. Founded in 1982 by Edgar Braun, conductor of the San Francisco Chamber Orchestra, the Festival has grown in scope yearly with the dedication and involvement of many local residents and businesses. With eight concerts, three scenic venues, over 10,000 expected attendees and the diverse programming in our upcoming "Season of Classics," the Lake Tahoe Music Festival remains the largest summer cultural event benefiting our local communities and a major attraction throughout the West.
THE FESTIVAL ORCHESTRA
This year we begin a new collaboration with the Reno Philharmonic Orchestra. Under the direction of Timm Rolek, we have arranged for the RPO to be the official LTMF orchestra this season!
HISTORY / THE LAKE TAHOE MUSIC FESTIVAL BOARD & STAFF & VOLUNTEERS
The Lake Tahoe Music Festival is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization with a strong volunteer Board of Directors. All twelve Directors take an active role in the overall business of the organization - from fundraising to special events. In addition, the Executive Director sees to the daily operations and oversees the staging of the Festival while working at the direction of the Board. Funds for the Festival are raised through individual memberships, corporate sponsorships, grants, and advertising revenues from our Festival program. In addition, a large and active volunteer group assists greatly in the smooth operation of the Festival. For more information, see the contacts listed below.
Consider becoming a Volunteer for The Lake Tahoe Music Festival - it's a great way to hear the best music and make an important contribution to the events and success of the Festival. Our volunteers are our most important asset!
EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH PROGRAM
After six successful years, the program has grown considerably. But, our goal is the same: to attract new audiences to classical music through education, exposure and programming for youth, adults and seniors of the communities of Lake Tahoe. In 2007 we began outreach programs directly into the schools with multiple performances by talented professional musicians as well as individual and group lessons to young students. In addition, LTMF took over the successful, five-year-old Truckee Youth Music Program in the fall of 2007, increasing the number of young students receiving free lessons and the no-cost use of instruments. Through various donations and grants, these program will expand in 2008!
